A room at the Mill
The Mill is a 200-year-old converted saw mill in the Bohemian countryside — a working family home that also happens to have rooms for guests. It is not a hotel. It is not a luxury retreat. It is something more personal than either of those things.
I live here. I cook here. The dog will probably greet you at the door. The chickens are out back. When you arrive, you're not checking into a service — you're stepping into a home that has been in my family since the 1960s, that my mother restored during the Covid pandemic, and that I run as a place where people can come and actually rest.
Not polished. Not perfect. Just real — and that's the whole point.
A note on what The Mill is — and isn't
We have seven rooms and separate unit across three floors, and three shared bathrooms — one on each level, each with a shower. The ground floor bathroom also has a bath. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and individually styled, but the bathrooms are shared between guests.
The Mill sits in the countryside with a healthy ecosystem — which also means insects, spiders and the occasional mouse are part of life here.
It's also worth knowing that this is a shared home with open staircases, resident animals, and other guests. It tends to suit adults and older children best. If you're travelling as a family or want to bring a dog, a full house booking means the whole place is yours — which genuinely works better for everyone.
If you're looking for an en-suite hotel experience, The Mill probably isn't a good fit. If you're looking for a place that feels like staying with friends in the country— with better food — look no further.
Every stay includes
All meals (with the exception of The Nest)— breakfast, lunch and dinner, cooked from scratch daily by a trained chef.
The grounds — the pond, the forest paths, the outdoor space. No schedule, no guided anything.
The Art Studio — open to all guests.
The animals — the dog, the cats, the chickens. They come with the house.
Genuine quiet — Secluded in the countryside, traffic, noise and crowds don’t exist here.
